DOHA, Qatar—July, 2007— Qatar National Hotels Company (QNH) strengthens its presence in Qatar by opening a new head office in Doha, Qatar in the second half of 2009.
In view of the boom anticipated in the years to come and given the ever growing interest in QNH and its new Merweb brand, QNH perceives the great importance to be powerfully represented in Doha with their new headquarters of international standards. The new QNH headquarters will be located within the premises of the Doha Marriott Hotel, replacing the previous QNH Air Catering Unit. The three-floored 27,543 square meter administrative building, which includes office space for over 150 staff, will be best suited to helping achieve the company's business objectives. "We are very proud to be an integral part of Qatar's vision for the future," said H.E. Sheikh Nawaf Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar National Hotels Company. "This opportunity allows us to invest in our own community while making a commitment to a sustainable investment in our portfolio and most importantly, creating a productive work environment for our employees - all to the benefit of our members." "Our new home will dramatically increase the efficiency of our operations; we are taking a very long-term approach in charting a course for the organization. We know that the workforce of the future will be far more effective in a collaborative, team-oriented work environment, therefore we are planning for that future now to fulfill our commitment to our members for generations to come." While the estimated cost of construction is QR 103 million, the long-term cost savings due to sustainable construction and energy-efficient features will be beneficial on the long run. This project takes place at a time when Qatar National Hotels Company is facing projected growth in employees and an ongoing need for more work space to serve its ongoing new projects. The location was chosen because of the ability to construct a modern, efficient work space and for the investment value provided by building in that area. |
