DOHA, Qatar—23 April, 2008— HE Sheikh Nawaf bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar National Hotels Company (QNH) met with Mr. J.W. Marriott, Jr., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Marriott International, Inc. on Wednesday 23rd April 2008 at the Sharq Village & Spa which is operated by the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company B.V.

Mr. J.W. Marriott, Jr. was accompanied by Mr. Simon F. Cooper, President and Chief Operating Officer of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company L.L.C. the luxury hospitality subsidiary of Marriott International, Inc. and Mr. Jürgen Giesbert, Executive Vice-President for the UK, Ireland, Middle East and Africa areas of Marriott International, Inc. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Jan Poul N. De Boer, Chief Executive Officer of QNH.

The meeting involved discussions about the long standing relationship between Qatar National Hotels Company (QNH) and Marriott International, Inc. Sheikh Nawaf and Mr. Marriott also discussed QNH's future local and international hotel investments. 
J.W. Marriott, Jr.'s first time visit to Doha comes at a point where his companies lodging brands multiply throughout the city. Doha currently compiles 6 luxury hotels and resorts under Marriott Internationals, Inc. management which include 3 operating hotels under the ownership of Qatar National Hotels Company (QNH); the recently opened and widely applauded Sharq Village & Spa, the elegant Ritz-Carlton Hotel, nestled on the shores of the sparkling blue Arabian Gulf, and the Doha Marriott Hotel which is a treasured landmark on the Qatar coastline.

In 2006, Qatar National Hotels Company took its first step outside Qatar and acquired the Renaissance Golden View Beach Resort in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt which opened in 2004 and is also managed by Marriott International, Inc.
